Singin’ The Blues

I got to hang out at the Phoenix last night for a while.  I do like that place quite a bit, but I’m usually in such a hurry to catch the bus and get back to midtown that I walk right by it.  Last night I was feeling rather what-the-heckish though so I dropped in to listen to the piano player for a while.  It was more crowded than usual but not too bad.  I stayed for about 3 hours, for his entire set actually.  He’s a good pianist, at least as far as I know, not being the biggest piano fan in the world.  I like listening to him at any rate.  If I had my choice he would skip the singing, but it ain’t that bad and he seems to enjoy it.  Might just go back next Thursday…

  1. Not a fan of these everyday updates. Face it, your life isn’t exciting enough to be news worthy everyday. Hell you might was well be on Twitter and tell me what you are doing every hour. Once a week provides enough content unless of course I am involved.

    Sincerely,
Grouchy old “sick of winter” reader

  2. Believe me I am painfully aware of that fact.  I’ve considered just copy/pasting “Went to the Brooksider and then watched TV on the couch” every day and calling it good.  Just wait until cycling season gets here and Munkirs and I start biking every day;  THEN there will be some real excitement on here.  Oh yeah.

  3. I am for the everyday update. If Chuck doesn’t like it he doesn’t have to read it! Notice he still comes out to look everyday.

  4. Thank you all for weighing in on the matter.  I was about to change my routine to accommodate Chuck, but majority rules.  The masses have spoken.  All three of them.

  5. Dude, I know it sounds hokey but we have to organize an outing to the Ernie Biggs Dueling Piano bar in Westport. There’s a dueling piano bar in P&L too, but I far prefer EB’s. I was “reluctant” to go to the “piano bar” before we went there but the place is freakin’ awesome. Quite the party atmosphere.

Let me know when ya wanna get a crew together and head down… 😀
