A random photo gallery of my first attempt at paella earlier this week. There is some disagreement there, as Donette claims I’ve made it before. If I did, it wasn’t in a genuine paella pan, and surely it wouldn’t taste the same if assembled in a plain ol’ skillet. I was pleased with the outcome, for a first (in my mind) try.
- I kept the broth warm on a side burner
- Chopped up everything, and got my super duper new pan good and hot
- Browned the chicken and chorizo a bit
- Then took the meat out and sauteed some onion, garlic and parsley
- Add some chopped tomatos
- And cooked that down
- Then some short-grained rice
- And let that fry a bit
- Add the stock, let it go a bit, then some clams
- And some shrimp meat
- To the table
- And to the plate
