I just ain’t feeling it, sorry. I’ve been somewhat sick, and as such entertainment has been severely curtailed. I did go on a great four-day weekend to Nebraska, but that was two weeks ago. As a matter of fact, I’m blaming the freezing weather we endured there on my current state of health. Make no mistake, I had a great time visiting my friends, but nobody should live in that kind of temperature. Wow.
In the absence of entertaining activities to relate, someone might find interest in one of my latest “projects.” Actually, I am relatively certain that nobody, with the possible exception of Senor Godwin, will have any interest what-so-ever. But, I’m going to throw it in here anyway. So, several weeks ago we decided to, as they say, “cut the cord.” It was with great glee that I finally called my arch-nemesis DirectTV and said “TURN IT OFF.” The only downside I could find to this decision was a nice 65″ TV in the living room, with nothing to show on it. And so, after a little research, I purchased an over-the-air antennae and a HDHomeRun device, for less than the price of a single months cable bill. The antennae is just a run of the mill, well, antennae. It pulls in a respectable 32 channels, which is not bad considering we live in the boondocks. Most importantly I get great reception on my favorite channel, MeTV. Think Andy Griffith, The Rifleman, Bonanza, Gunsmoke… Pretty much the only TV worth watching. I then plugged said antennae into the HDHomeRun device, which then connects to my home network and voila, TV on any network device in the house. For free! Por nada! Zilch! Wonderful times we live in, people. I’ve also provided myself a means of watching Mizzou sports and the all important Monday Night Raw, but I can’t tell you about that. Shhhhhhh.
- At the horse races in Grand Island, NE. I nearly froze taking this picture.
- A pic from the nice warm suite we watched the horse races from.
- The delicious pizza we enjoyed upon our arrival in Nebraska.
- This past Saturday we went up to the Rescue and looked at PUPPIES! There is about a 0% chance of taking one home. We just felt like playing with puppies. This little rascal was a little tempting, I’ll admit.
- A beer sampler at Steeple Brewing in Hasting, NE.
- Our group at the horse races last weekend. “The Old Army Buddies,” as this crowd is known.
Oooooooooooooooo….very interesting stuff…need to know about the sports feeds tho. You know where to find me.
