Go Tigers!

Last night we went down to the Brooksider to say our good-byes to our friend Tommy.  A lot of people showed up, I don’t think they’ve seen a Monday night like that in a while.  We will sure miss our friend and neighbor.

THOMAS GARVEY LIVERS

Thomas Garvey Livers, 54, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on March 3, 2011, at his lifelong home, which has been in his family for three generations. Tom was born March 7, 1956 to Janet (Garvey) and John (Jack) Livers. He was a graduate of Southwest High School, and attended Penn Valley Community College. Tom proudly worked for the family business, Livers Bronze Co., Inc., for 30 years. He married Nancy Doane on his favorite holiday, Halloween, October 31, 1987. Tom was a loving father to his girls Amanda Addison, Sydney Gasper, and Miriam Sincere-Swafford; and “Peepaw” to his adored “tribe”: Marlon, Marquis, Malia, and Mason Addison, Lily Gasper, Ella and Levi Brown, and Liam Swafford. There were his pride and joy! Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings John and his wife Gert, Harold (Harv), and Richard (Dick) Livers, and Honour (Sr Janet Helen) Waldron. In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, he is survived by sisters-in-law, Betty (Harold) Livers, Betty Rachell (Richard) Livers, Lynne (Alan) Petrasek, and Jacqueline (Robert) Kern; and brother-in-law, Ellis (Anna) Doane; and his cousin, Betty (Larry) O’Brien; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and a multitude of loyal friends, and his faithful dog, Sadie. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Wayside Waifs animal shelter, 3901 Martha Truman Rd., Kansas City, MO 64137. Visitation will be held Monday, March 7th, 9-11 a.m., at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64111, with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. Private burial. The family would like to make it known that the Missouri Tigers will undoubtedly have more wins with their #1 fan guiding the way! Shine on Tommy!
